Wygrzebalem w sieci nowe PLD Rescue CD:

O dziwo jestem milo zaskoczony w miarę bezproblemowo udało mi się to zainstalować na qemu łącznie z podniesieniem X

szybki jak slackware, multum pakietów do wyboru no i poldek jest rewelacyjnym narzędziem,

jako ze podczas procesu instalacji korzystałem z kilku howto-w w jezyku polskim i angielskim i powiem szczerze ze żaden do końca nie opisuje nie tyle poprawnego co kompletnego procesu instalacji (tak aby uniknąć niespodzianek)
pozwoliłem sobie sklecić coś do kupy sam - na bazie własnych doświadczeń.

Requirements:

Download RescueCD from : https://github.com/Jajcus/pld-new-rescue/releases

Boot it and login as root with password pld

Check avilable drives

# fdisk -l

Partition and create: /, /home, swap or as you demand

# cfdisk

Initiate swap:

# mkswap /dev/sda3

Make filesystem (ex. reiserfs):

# mkfs.reiserfs /dev/sda1
# mkfs.reiserfs /dev/sda2

Create mountpoint, and mount partition into it:

# mkdir /pld
# mount /dev/sda1 /pld

Network should be up and running if not, go to:
https://www.pld-linux.org/docs/man/installing_pld_linux_based_on_rescue_cd

Just in case check it with:

# ping -c 5 google.com

Poldek configuration:
In file /etc/poldek/repos.d/pld-2014.conf We need to check architecture eg:
_arch = x86_64
and change value _snap to most recent eg:
_snap = 2015

#vim /etc/poldek/repos.d/pld-2014.conf

Packages installation:

# rpm --root /pld --initdb
# poldek --root /pld

poldek> install setup FHS udev pwdutils chkconfig dhcpcd poldek vim geninitrd 
kmod cpio lilo

During installation poldek is asking a few important!!! questions eg: what init system you want to use???
usually answer is: y or: s to select one you like.

After all finished quit poldek with:

poldek>quit

Prepare to install kernel:

# mount -o bind /proc /pld/proc
# mount -o bind /sys /pld/sys
# mount -o bind /dev /pld/dev

Configure fstab:

#vim /pld/etc/fstab
/dev/sda1     /              reiserfs defaults 1 1
/dev/sda2     /home     reiserfs defaults 1 2
/dev/sda2     swap       swap    defaults 0 0

Kernel installation:

# poldek --root /pld -i kernel

It takes a while and poldek again is asking questions.


Bootloader lilo:

Edit /etc/lilo.conf

# vim /pld/etc/lilo.conf
boot=/dev/sda
read-only
lba32
prompt
timeout=100

image=/boot/vmlinuz
        label=pld
        root=/dev/sda1
        initrd=/boot/initrd

And execute:

# chroot /pld /sbin/lilo

Here we almost done except one very important thing,
to change root password execute:

# chroot /pld /usr/bin/passwd

And create user:

# chroot /pld /usr/sbin/useradd -m jdoe
# chroot /pld /usr/bin/passwd jdoe

Reboot:

#exit
#umount /pld
#reboot

& boot to new pld-base system
whole process takes around 20min
installing X is another long story.
