Witam
Kupiłem dysk (OCZ Vertex 3 SSD 2,5 60GB 535/480 MB/s), nie chciało mi sie przenosić systemu ze starego dysku więc
system postawiłem od nowa, następnie przeniosłem tyko dwóch userów ze starego dysku.
Dysk spisuje się całkiem dobrze chociaż powinien chyba mieć lepsze osiągi.

Czy oznacza to że system uruchamia się  z SATAI a nie jak powinien z SATAII ?

Mój debian zainstalowany jest z jajkiem 2.6.32-5-686, wyczytałem gdzieś na forum że ten kernel nie najlepiej sobie radzi z chipsetem iże zalecane jest jądro 2.6.38
Co sądzicie na ten temat i czy ktoś z was korzysta z 2.6.38 ?
Co byście poradzili ?

Co do jądra - w backportach jest 2.6.39, spisuje się bardzo dobrze.

EDIT: Nad błędami pomyślimy, jeśli będą pojawiać się także po aktualizacji jądra.

Po aktualizacji jądra zamontuj też partycję z parametrem "discard", który włącza TRIM. Choć to może mieć wpływ na wydajność dopiero po dłuższym używaniu. Nie zaszkodzi też "noatime".

Polecam przetestować wydajność przy użyciu graficznego programu gnome-disk-utility, zauważyłem że niekiedy wyniki różnią się dość znacznie.

Tylko po co ściągać cały obraz systemu? Nie prościej dodać backporty do sources.list i ściągnąć tylko potrzebne pakiety?

Trzeba zainstalować smartmontools w wersji >= 5.39. Z moim dyskiem niestety na razie to nie działa.

Zabijesz ten dysk kernelem niższym niż 2.6.33, dopiero od tej wersji kernel obsługuje TRIM, z czasem transfery będą Ci coraz bardziej spadać. Ext3 też nie wspiera TRIM. Radzę zainstalować na nowo system na partycji ext4, albo chociaż przekonwertować ext3 na ext4, w opcjach montowania dodać discard, aby włączyć obsługę TRIM dla ext4 i zainstalować kernel z backportów squeezy.

Mój wpis w /etc/fstab:

Ile masz ramu w komputerze? Jeżeli ponad 2GB, to warto się też zastanowić nad wyłączeniem swapa. Ja przeniosłem też /tmp oraz /var/tmp do ramu

Będzie działał coraz wolniej.

No i partycje trzeba przekonwerować na ext4, bo o ile mi wiadomo ext3 nie obsługuje TRIM'a, a sama obecność go w kernelu nic nie da.

[b]Tomeku[/b]: Mnie chodziło tylko o to, że nie musi instalować systemu z innego obrazu żeby mieć nowszy kernel. No chyba że chce oczywiście. :) W takim przypadku instalacja z tamtego obrazu będzie w porządku, on domyślnie zawiera nowszy kernel, ale nadal instalowany jest normalny Debian.

System postawiłem od nowa z tego squeeze-custom-amd64-0808.iso z jajkiem 2.6.39-bpo.2-amd64.

Ja nic nie musiałem instalować, sprawdź może czy w BIOS'ie masz ustawiony dysk na AHCI. Przetestuje też dysk skryptem, który podałem we wcześniejszym poście. Możesz jeszcze przestawić scheduler dysku z cfq na noop dodając do pliku /etc/rc.local

Po restarcie polecenie

cat /sys/block/queue/scheduler

powinno dać mniej więcej taki wynik

Jak już pisałem moja płyta główna to ASRock N68C-S UCC
Bios przejrzałem już chyba od A do Z i za cholerę nie mogę odnaleźć AHCI.

Szybko spojrzałem w google i wygląda na to, że płyta nie obsługuje AHCI. Ciekawe jest to, ze przed ponowną instalacją systemu miałeś większe prędkości. Spróbuj poszukać czegoś na forum OCZ, może tam znajdziesz odpowiedź.

Winowajcą niskich prędkości może być złe wyrównanie partycji. Początek partycji powinien zaczynać się od 1024 albo 2048 i powinna być wyrównana do bloku, początek kolejne partycji powinien być podzielny przez 512 (rozmiar bloku).

Przyznam się że partycje były tworzone poprzez program instalatora ( z automatu).
Widzę że czeka mnie jeszcze jedna reinstalacja :-/
