Witam, jestem nowym użytkownikiem, dlatego proszę o wyrozumiałość. Moja karta graficzna to GeForce FX 5200. Tak więc od niedawna staram się zainstalować sterownik do tej karty. Kiedyś miałem Squeez'a i udało mi się ją zainstalować przez sh. Teraz próbuje ją zainstalować na wheezy i po instalacji tą metodą sh, nic nie działa. Komputer się uruchamia i tylko mruga podłoga. Po wpisaniu czegokolwiek na klawiaturze czasem tylko coś się pojawi, ale to jakieś znaczki-krzaczki. Tak więc próbowałem dzisiaj zainstalować ten sterownik przez skrypt, lecz wyskakuje błąd:

Tak więc moje pytanie brzmi: da się to jakoś naprawić, czy muszę instalować starszą wersję xorg'a? Jeśli tak to jak? Pozdrawiam!

Sterowniki z gałęzi 173.xx obsługują maksymalnie Xorga 1.10, zatem musiałbyś go cofnąć.

Jeżeli potrzebujesz teraz zamkniętych sterowników, to tak. Chyba, że wolisz czekać aż Nvidia doda obsługę nowszych X-ów do tej gałęzi sterowników, ale nie wiadomo kiedy i czy w ogóle to nastąpi. :)

przy okazji; przy cofniętym Xorg pakiety z *mesa* w nazwie i *xserver* też powinny być zatrzymane?

pytam się bo mam u siebie cofniętego 1.10 a w /etc/apt/preferences *mesa* i *xserver* pominąłem

[b]dominbik[/b]: niekoniecznie. AFAIR ten wpis był tak skonstruowany, żeby to się ładnie cofało na domyślnej instalacji, gdzie jest sporo niekoniecznie każdemu przydatnych pakietów zainstalowanych. Jak używasz sterowników Nvidii, to pakiety mesy w ogóle nie są potrzebne. Ja mam:

Właśnie dlatego mam pusty pakiet libgl1-mesa-glx, a nie całkiem usunięty… Zależności chyba nie były pisane z myślą o zamkniętych sterownikach. :)

Rób jak chcesz, zamknięte sterowniki Nvidii i tak nadpisują/przekierowują mesę z pakietów, zatem nic z niej nie korzysta.

Rozumiem. Więc *mesa* wywaliłem, by nie było problemów w sytuacji, kiedy jakaś aplikacja przy update zachciała nowszej wersji pakietu *mesa* z którego silnika i tak nie korzysta,

i działa. Mam teraz tylko pytanie czy jak bym zrobił przienstalkę systemu to czy można ściągnąć od razu wersję xorga 1.10 bez cofania się? Teraz mogłem coś namieszać bo użyłem do tego cofania apt-get'a choć zawsze korzystałem z aptitude.

Tak, można. Ale jeśli to:

jest jedynym powodem dla którego chcesz to zrobić, to daj spokój, szkoda czasu. Ostatnio nawet doszliśmy do wniosku, że można je mieszać: [url]http://forum.dug.net.pl/viewtopic.php?id=20914[/url] i nic szczególnie ważnego nie ma się od tego prawa stać.

Chyba jednak na razie nie będę przeinstalowywał, ale mógłbyś mi napisać tak w skrócie jak zainstalować na czystym systemie? Jakoś nie ogarniam tego wątku, a w przyszłości pewnie mi się przyda.

Musiałbyś zainstalować system bez środowiska graficznego, czyli sam tryb tekstowy. Zmienić repozytoria na te ze [url]snapshot.debian.org[/url], zainstalować z nich Xorga i dodać do /etc/apt/preferences wpis blokujący aktualizację Xorga. Zmienić repozytoria na normalne testinga i instalować dalej co tam potrzebujesz, czyli środowisko graficzne itd. Ale jak już mówiłem, szkoda zachodu. Jeśli teraz cofnąłeś i dało się zainstalować sterowniki, to znaczy że jest w porządku.
