problem z xorg

Witam,

Długo cieszyłem się bardzo dobrym sprawowaniem się mojego Debianka, jednak po ostatnim upgradzie pakietów zaczęły się same problemy. Najpierw przy upgradzie kde do 4.x wystąpił błąd zależności pakietów i przez pakiet tracer(?) (który zdaje się, że w nowym kde został wycofany) który potrzebował starszej wersji jakiegoś innego pakietu (kdebase) doprowadził ostatecznie do niezainstalowania się kde i braku X-ów.

Trochę lekkomyślnie stwierdziłem, że może błąd leży w Xorg-u, więc usunąłem ten pakiet i zainstalowałem od nowa. I tu zaczęły się już większe schody. Najpierw po restarcie i próbie uruchomienia X-ów - startx wyskoczył błąd o braku sterownika fglrx. Poszperałem troche w necie i zainstalowałem ten sterownik. Jednak X-y nadal nie chodzą.

Instalację fglrx robiłem według tej strony [url=http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Debian_Installation_Guide]http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Debian_Installation_Guide[/url]. Nie wiem jednak czy wszystko poszło ok, ponieważ po restarcie i wpisaniu aticonfig --initial otrzytmałem taki error:

Nowy Xserver 1.6.3, stare fglrx (8.65.4) i to dla xservera 1.4.99 (to jest 1.5 lub 1.6?)... hmm.. ale skoro nie kłóci się o ABI to chyba OK. Mimo to jednak chyba powinieneś  rozważyć instalację najnowszej wersji fglrx lub sterownika wolnościowego, prawdopodobnie "radeonhd" lub ostatecznie "ati".

Całą sekcję "Module" możesz wsadzić za kratki, nie jest niezbędna. I do sekcji ServerLayout doklej
  Option "AllowEmptyInput" "off"   

I sekcji Screen (tej drugiej, konkretnie sekcja Display) doklej:
        Modes    "1280x1024"
Bo może ten sterownik nie jest taki mądry i sam sobie nie ustawi niczego.

Wreszcie jakoś udało mi się postawić te xy. Pomogło zainstalowanie "otwartych" sterowników -> [url]http://debian.linux.pl/viewtopic.php?t=952[/url].

Teraz idę się bawić w update kde do nowszej wersji :)

Jeśli [b]RV370[/b] to oznaczenie chipsetu, o jaki oparty jest Twoja karta, to raczej sterowniki RadeonHd odpadają, gdyż:

W takim przypadku lepiej użyć sterowników Radeon z repo:

Zainstaluj je, dopisz w sekcji "Device" do Driver i zobacz.

Mam dla Ciebie ostatnią nowinę. Karta Twoja została przeniesiona do Legacy. Oznacza to, że sterowniki przestały być rozwijane - również dla Windows, Linux nie jest tu osamotniony. Więc - jeśli używasz Testinga (Squeeze), to możesz już zapomnieć o sterownikach własnościowych (fglrx). Dlaczego? Sterowniki były dopasowane pod Xorg do wersji 7.3. W Testingu jest już 7.4, wraz z xserverem 1.6.x. Kernel też jest już 2.6.30.x. Krótko mówiąc oznacza to, że NIE zainstalujesz ich już poprawnie. Każda próba uruchomienia systemu na sterownikach własnościowych zakończy się crashem X-ów. W tym momencie zostają tylko już sterowniki otwarte. Aby nadal cieszyć się sterownikami zamkniętymi, używać musisz Debiana Lenny, Ubuntu 8.04 (wsparcie do 2011 roku) lub Minta w wersji bodajże 5. Wklej lub sprawdź sobie jeszcze dla pewności wynik polecenia:

To wiemy już z pewnością, że tu jest pies pogrzebany. Podobny crash X-ów zaliczysz już z tymi sterownikami na każdej z obecnych już dystrybucji. ATi zachowało się bardzo brzydko, ale to nie nowość.

Zostałem wyprzedzony przez autora :-P Zauważ tylko proszę, że data wpisu z owego forum jest z 2007-02-18 :-) Wystarczyło tylko doinstalować pakiet Radeon z repo i to wszystko na czasy obecne :-)
