Ubuntu wykrywa modem Huawei jedynie po restarcie z Debiana

Witam,
na wstępie przepraszam za dublowanie wątków, umieściłem ten wpis również na forum.ubuntu.pl, ponieważ dotyczy obu systemów.

Mam na dysku Debiana Squeeze z KDE oraz Ubuntu 10.04 (GNOME). Na Debianie bez żadnego problemu łączę się z siecią za pomocą modemu Huawei (Play Online). Na Ubuntu zostanie on wykryty jedynie wówczas, gdy najpierw zaloguję się na Debiana, uruchomię sieć, a później ponownie uruchomię komputer - z Ubuntu. Nie ma mowy o pomyłce, empirycznie sprawdzałem wiele razy.

Co więcej, w przeciwnym wypadku - gdy po prostu uruchomię Ubuntu, w katalogu /dev nie będę miał następujących wpisów:

A że się tak zapytam: co ma piernik do wiatraka? O ile mi wiadomo to urządzenia w /dev są tworzone podczas instalacji systemu oraz część jest tworzona podczas startu systemu... Może nie wstaje Ci jakiś daemon albo któryś z modułów startuje za późno. Jedyne co mi przychodzi do głowy to porównanie załadowanych modułów w obu systemach oraz porównanie rc-skryptów (w sensie czy takie same są odpalane)....

Piernik do wiatraka ma to, że modem podłączam do /dev/ttyUSB0 . Jeżeli jest on nie wykryty w /dev, to nie mogę odpalić nawet prostego dialera, np. wvdial :-)

Bardziej chodziło mi o to co ma wspólnego /dev Debiana z /dev bubuntu ;) Bo co ma wspólnego modem z /dev to akurat się dowiedziałem z posta :)

ID tego urządzenia są identyczne w debianie i ubuntu i w ubuntu jak działa i nie działa ?
No i dmesg w ubuntu coś mówi wtedy jak nie dziala ?

Dobrze abyś podał co to dokładnie za modem wtedy będziemy się zastanawiać co jest nie tak z nim w ubuntu.

Zaczynając od Adama i Ewy: W Debianie łączę się bez kłopotów przez Network-Managera - modem jest normalnie wykrywany i działa w pełni sprawnie. W Ubuntu nie jest wykrywany, chyba że przed chwilą robiłem restart z Debiana. Wiem, że brzmi to głupio, ale kilka razy sprawdzałem empirycznie. Pomyślałem OK, olać gnomowego Network-Managera, będę się łączył przez wvdial. Ale okazuje się, że jeżeli po prostu uruchomię Ubuntu, to nie mam węzła /dev/ttyUSB0, który jest mi niezbędny do połączenia.

Może Ubuntu na starcie nie tworzy odpowiedniego pliku urządzenia. Spróbuj po prostu uruchomić Ubuntu z wypiętym modemem i już po pełnym uruchomieniu systemu włożyć modem. Lub po pełnym uruchomieniu go wypiąć i wpiąć.

Debian widzi to urządzenie od pierwszego uruchomienia komputera? Bo może masz jakiś problem sprzętowy i porty USB są widoczne dla systemu dopiero po jakimś czasie od uruchomienia sprzętu.

Co mówi dmesg w ubuntu wtedy gdy modem nie działa.

Być moze modul trzeba z parametrem ladować.
Na jakim module to chodzi ?

Możesz wrzucić lsmod przy dzialającym połączeniu.

W Debianie też nie działa od samego uruchomienia, tzn. po zalogowaniu muszę wyjąć i włożyć sprzęt. Na Ubuntu takie działanie nic nie daje.

Niestety te metody nie działają. Problem jest w tym, że po starcie ani Debian ani Ubuntu nie tworzy węzłów /dev/ttyUSB0 (1, 2). Różnica jest tylko taka, że w przypadku Debiana węzły zostaną utworzone po wyjęciu i włożeniu z powrotem modemu w gniazdo USB, a w przypadku Ubuntu nie.

udev nie robi tego co trzeba? Pod swój modem na Pcmcia który po jakiejś serii ładowania modułów widoczny jest podobnie jako usb na serial porcie, robiłem kernel. Lepiej pokaz logi jak umieszczasz modem w porcie, co się dzieje.

OK, mam! Wystarczyło doinstalować dwa pakiety, wszystko było opisane w Czytelni Ubuntu. Jednak nadal pozostaje zagadka, dlaczego po restarcie z Debiana modem działał w Ubuntu? :-) Może mają jakąś wspólną przestrzeń pamięci dla kerneli? Sam nie wiem.

Raczej pamięć modemu coś tam przechowywała.

Ale jak w Ubuntu używasz Network Managera, to albo przyzwyczajaj się do kłopotów, albo odzwyczajaj do internetu.
Pulseaudio i Network Manager - to chyba najbardziej spieprzone programy w historii Ubuntu.
Nigdy nie widziałem - żeby działały stabilnie i przewidywalnie , (przez trzy lata z Ubuntu).

Miałem podobną rozkmnię ostatnio u klientki z drukarką. Po jednym wydruku spod windy wszystko chodziło. Do wyłączenia drukarki. Odpowiedzią okazało się ładowanie firmware w trakcie tworzenia, jak to fachowo ujęliście, węzła.
